Should you buy a ROBOT vacuum cleaner?

This is a Robot household appliance. It is the iRobot Roomba 980 it's been out for a pair of years But I've had the chance over the last month to check it get into my very own home. I'm inquisitive about whether this stuff are literally worth buying or if they're just gimmicky and you finish up having to try to to the vacuuming yourself anyway. Considering this top-spec Roomba 980 costs the higher a part of £1000 Is it actually worth buying? Does it keep your house clean? basically - must you get one? away! It’s all about convenience - how important is it slow. I mean I vacuum my house - which to be fair isn’t even that big - probably once per week. With the Roomba, it’s more like once a month. With the upper end models just like the Roomba980, you get Wi-Fi and app support, so you don’t even must set it off yourself, you'll program a schedule.

I’ve got my robot which I called Steve – for a few reason - doing the round every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10am. i purchase little app notifications come up when he’s finished, if he’s full, if he’s stuck - which occasionally he does get. Basically, aside from emptying him out once per week and plonking him at the highest of the steps to try and do my upstairs - it’s a awfully hands-off experience. Suction and cleaning power will vary reckoning on what model of robot vacuum you choose - with a range of Roomba models available. My Roomba will last 2 hours on one charge before it returns home to the docking station, and takes about half-hour to try and do my kitchen and lounge. It starts off pretty methodical, going back and forth, then again because it gently bumps into chairs and walls it maps out the space and so seems to finish up getting into all forms of directions.

But no matter the route it takes, fair play to that - it does cover all the space, and in contrast to the Dyson 360 eye is tiny enough to travel under my sofa and my bed which is another handy advantage over a conventional upright household appliance. i used to be impressed with how it handled wires and cables too, sometimes it'd get itself a small amount excited but 99% of the time it got free and then far, hasn’t chewed up or damaged anything. I don’t have pets though - and while this could definitely be useful for regularly vacuuming cat or dog hair - i might be afraid what would happen if it drove through your pets...let’s just say mess. I also find that after I know Steve is getting ready to burst on his rounds, I’ll move furniture out of the way or attempt to clear the maximum amount floorspace so he can clean everywhere - although at that time I’m thinking well i'll also just have a go at it myself, I’m already moving furniture about.

But on the entire, i've got to mention i'm convinced, not necessarily by the marginally eye-watering price, but the concept of a robot vacuum cleaner- providing regular cleaning to your house, and so insured by you doing a correct vacuuming session - once a month or something. Vacuum cleaners aren’t the sexiest or most glamorous gadgets to speak about - but over once I’ve found myself just watching Steve go around, impressed by how he gets right within the corners, can navigate around awkward stalls and pushes my shoes out of the way within the hallway. So, this top-end Roomba 980 costs £899, which is an awful lot of cash. Although Roombas start from about £350 – although they lack app support and don’t have high-power carpet cleaning modes.

There’s also strong competition from more budget robot vacuum cleaners just like the Xiaomi Mi Robot - which can be a decent place to begin to determine if it’s something you wish in your home. But after a month of use, i've got to mention Ideally like my Roomba and that i would recommend it. It’s definitely a luxury instead of a necessity, but whichever model you opt for, i believe every house or apartment should have its own little Steve doing all of your chores while you’re out. Although for 900-quid, I also quite expect it to create me a cup of tea and convey me breakfast within the morning. Maybe on next year’s model. So, I hope you found that useful. Thanks guys and I’ll see you next time.
